Peter is head of the Department of Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology at the Institute of Forest Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (https://ife.sk) in Zvolen. He currently leads a cooperative research project which focuses on the interdisciplinary study (biology, mathematics, computer science and technology) of swarming behaviour of tree-dwelling bats. This work aims to develop a new meta-heuristic method capable of space exploration and also to solve conservation questions (http://netopiere.sk/skybat). He is also interested in roosting ecology and spatio-temporal activity of one of the most enigmatic bat species, the giant noctule.
