Danilo is an ecologist, ethologist and conservation biologist based at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy. His interests include habitat selection, resource partitioning, sensory ecology, social behaviour, evolutionary biology, biogeography, and invasion ecology. Much of his research focuses on bats, but he also works on a range of other model organisms to answer the specific questions. He has chaired the Scientific Committee of the UNEP/EUROBATS Agreement (i.e. the Agreement on the Conservation of Populations of European Bats) since 2018, and he proudly serves as editor-in-chief of the top-ranking zoological journal Mammal Review. He acted as the main proposer of this Cost Action (Climate Change and Bats: from Science to Conservation) and is now the chair of the Action’s Management Committee.
