Attila is a biologist, currently employed as a principal researcher at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj, Romania. He is involved in several projects targeting bats, studying distribution, habitat selection and host-parasite relationships. He is co-ordinating the work of a small group of researchers, monitoring roost selection, long-term persistence and breeding distribution. The work includes performing visual counts of hibernating bats and netting at important swarming sites. In recent years, the activity of the group shifted from cave-dwelling bats to cover increasingly the distribution and ecology of bats in urban and highly modified agricultural areas, including studying the contribution of bats to agricultural and ecosystem services.
