Antton is an associate professor at the University of Copenhagen, and leader of the group of Ecological and Evolutionary Hologenomics at the GLOBE Institute. His group researches on the ecological interactions of wild vertebrates and eco-evolutionary relations between vertebrates and their gut microorganisms. Their research is conducted implementing a wide range of methodologies, including molecular tools (e.g. metagenomics, metabarcoding, whole genome sequencing, bayesian phylogenetics), spatial analyses (e.g. radio-tracking, distribution modelling, GIS), fieldwork methods (e.g. mistnetting, Sherman trapping, sediment coring), captivity experimentation and bioinformatics (e.g. R, python). Antton is also the Scientific Manager of the H2020 IA project HoloFood and coordinator of the Earth HoloGenome Initiative.
